Happy New Year all!
I have made a start on my first of 12 pairs of socks. I am using Adriafil Zebrino yarn in the shade of 065 orange fancy, which is available at
http://www.theyarncafe.com/zebrino-yarn-from-adria... and is £3.60 a ball. I think it will take less than 2 balls of this yarn to make a pair of adult-sized socks. The pattern that I am using is called Irish Wellington socks (a free pattern from Aileen Cahill on ravelry.com) and I am using size 4mm double pointed needes (DPNs) for the rib and size 4.5mm for the main section of the sock.
This is an easy challenge to start with - a simple sock with a ribbed cuff, in Aran weight self-striping yarn and I am using 2 sizes of DPNs. I made a start on 1 January 2019 and have made good progress so far, with the different colours starting to show through already. I will be attempting more complex socks as the months go on.
