Blacker Yarns have an extensive range of knitting yarns made from British, regional and rare breed wools, mohair and alpaca. British fibre is processed entirely by The Natural Fibre Company in Cornwall.
Most of the yarns that they produce are in the natural colours from the original sheep, goat or alpaca and they also blend with flax and tussah silk. They come from breeds such as Ryeland, Blue-faced Leicester, Black Welsh Mountain and Corriedale.
Blacker Yarns dye yarns using organically accredited mineral based acid reactive dyes and have produced bright and pastel shades and some dyed over natural greys and fawns.
The yarns that they produce are available in 2-ply, 4-ply, double knitting, aran and chunky weights.
